Harrahs bills the Showboat as 'The Mardi Gras Casino'. The New Orleans party theme is nicely carried throughout the property including Bourbom Street scenes and facades, bandstands, Dixieland bands, and costumed employees found on the gaming floors, as well as its restaurants, etc. The casino, which spans over 100,000 square feet, includes approximately 75 table games and 3,700 slots machines, Baccarat Room, plus a horseracing simulcast facility. Thanks to exclusive arrangements, Harrahs players occasionally have a chance to play the newest slots before they hit the floors in other casinos. There are several different slot areas including The Carousel Room (a high-end slot parlor with carousel horse as its centerpiece), The Lagniappe Slot area (which houses 117 quarter reel machines), the Bayou Gaming Club ($5 slots with plush seating and personalized service).
